Like in Denmark and Great Britain – give us Freedom Day! – Domestic policy

It sounded like the best news in a year and a half.

The “epidemic situation of national importance” is to expire at the end of November – Health Minister Jens Spahn (41, CDU, photo) called for it on Monday. A “Freedom Day” like in Denmark, where the last Corona rules including mask requirement were overturned on September 10th, was within reach.

But now it is clear: that much will not change for the Germans. On the contrary: Preparations are already underway for corona rules as a permanent condition.

▶ ︎ BILD has a three-page letter that Health Minister Jens Spahn (41, CDU) sent on October 15 to the heads of the possible next government of the SPD, Greens and FDP.

THE CONTENT: Advice on how the corona measures can be maintained even without an epidemic situation – by the federal states and municipalities.

Spahn: That is “absolutely necessary”. Because: “The epidemiological situation confirms the further necessity of these measures this autumn and winter.”

The minister’s proposal: The federal states could proceed as before, adopting mask requirements and restricting access to unvaccinated people. Or: The Bundestag amends the Infection Protection Act so that restrictions are possible even without an “epidemic situation”.

THAT would mean: mask as a permanent condition, vaccination certificate as a constant companion. The federal states could thus permanently restrict freedoms. Because Corona will never completely disappear.

Legal scholars are horrified. Professor Franz Josef Lindner (55, University of Augsburg) on BILD: “Here an X for a U is shown to the citizens.” The state creates the opportunity “to keep the sharp weapon in hand permanently” – even without “an epidemic situation “. Lindner: “This is no longer understandable for the citizen.”

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health explains when asked by BILD: The prime ministers had agreed on 3G over the winter (i.e. certain events only for those who have recovered, tested and vaccinated), as well as AHA + L rules (distance, hygiene, everyday masks and ventilation). Nationwide uniform rules are no longer necessary.

Christine Aschenberg-Dugnus (62, FDP) criticized Spahn for an extension of the epidemic situation at the end of August. “Now he pretends to have gone from Saul to Paul. We’re not buying this political staging from him. “

There can only be one solution: a full return to freedom, as in Denmark and before Great Britain. There was no collapse of the health system in these countries. Germany also needs its Freedom Day!
