Lidl launches its online sales site, all you need to know

The launch of the site was done discreetly this weekend. It is already possible to access it, to consult the catalog of products offered for sale and even to order. To seduce the consumer, the supermarket focuses on non-food products: garden and terrace, DIY, home and kitchen, fashion, furniture and decorations, sports and leisure, baby and child, multimedia… The range of products is quite wide.

More and more customers are attracted by these everyday products, some of which already line the supermarket shelves. Lidl is also famous for these marketing stunts on clothes bearing the image of the brand, like sneakerssocks or Christmas sweaters that are snapped up every year.

Price cuts

The German distributor has chosen the right moment to enter the French e-commerce market. In the midst of inflationhe wants to compete with major players like Amazon, Cdiscount or other distributors by cutting prices.

For example, it offers a Silvercrest sandwich maker at 11.99 euros, an electric table barbecue at less than 28 euros or a Parkside drill-driver at 22 euros. Whether customers will be won over by the quality remains to be seen. The products are already rated thanks to the comments left by European consumers (beware of fake reviews).

Paid delivery

Unlike other sites, you will have to pay a few extra euros for delivery. Shipping costs vary from 4.99 euros to 44.98 euros depending on the size and weight of the package. The general conditions of sale do not provide for reimbursement of delivery in the event of the return of a product.

To order, you must create or identify yourself with a Lidl account. It is also possible to place an order as a guest, by entering their e-mail address. For now, only the website has been opened, but there may well be a dedicated application for Android and iOS, according to “ Le Figaro “.
