Franz Kotteder
His hotel “Bachmair Weissach” on Lake Tegernsee is one of the most famous resorts for rich people in Germany and, like all hotels, has had an extremely difficult year. But that didn’t stop Korbinian Kohler, 53, from buying the traditional Wildbad Kreuth, formerly a legendary retreat for the CSU under Franz Josef Strauss, on a long lease last December. He wants to make a “mental retreat” out of it. Kohler’s family owns the Gmund paper mill, which was founded in 1829. It produces high-quality fine paper, until 2004 he was managing director together with his brother Florian, then he was paid off. He is married to the artist Susanne Kohler and has four children.
