“Let’s Dance” star Philipp Boy with tears on the show

In the 11th live show of “Let’s Dance” it was decided which dance couple would make it into the final. Also there were Anna Ermakova, Julia Beautx, Timon Krause and Philipp Boy. The celebrities and professionals had to face several challenges in this edition. On the one hand they had to complete two individual dances and on the other hand they had to prove themselves at the “Impro Dance Even More Extreme”. Especially the improv dance presented the couples with great challenges.

They had 90 seconds to change for the dance that was assigned to them. Then there was 30 seconds to discuss the choreo. Philipp and Patricija in particular struggled with the task. They got the Charleston and Philipp had a complete blackout.

Philipp Boy messes up the performance

Patricija Ionel and Philipp Boy did even better in the individual dances. They got the highest number of points for the Paso Doble, and 26 points for the Slowfox. But the improv dance turned into a disaster. In the clip, the former professional gymnast said about the challenge: “You find out, you have to run backwards, you have a minute and a half to change and then Patricija tells me that we dance this and that part of the choreo. Then I’ll probably stand there and think, ‘Oh my God.'”

It quickly became clear that Patricija was also very nervous before the Charleston. The professional dancer said angrily: “What do we do now?” At this point even Philipp said individual steps and the two tried to go through the choreo quickly in the given time. However, when they had to perform, Philipp slipped up. He obviously couldn’t remember the steps.

The jury punishes Philipp Boy

After the dance, Victoria Swarovski stated: “There you see a disappointed face. It’s all right, don’t get angry, because Jorge has certainly prepared a good word for you.” Philip immediately had tears in his eyes. Finally, Jorge González said: “Philipp, it happens. You started well, you had good moments. Then you were a bit out. You should have kept going. You know that from sport, unfortunately you didn’t do it. A pity.”

Afterwards, Motsi Mabuse should make her judgement. She was disappointed with his performance: “I have to hold myself back because I’m really angry. It’s Charleston, there is no specification, no choreography, you should have just performed. You can’t give up like that in the middle of a dance. It’s okay. Don’t worry now, but we won’t give up on the next opportunity.”

Joachim Llambi was also clear in his assessment: “Do you still have them all on the lamp? Now to be honest, you were a competitive athlete, you endured pressure in big competitions. Your nerves end up in the semi-finals of ‘Let’s Dance’ a very important factor. Those nerves probably not only played the trick on you, but maybe even cost you the final.”

Overall, he received only 17 points from the jury. In the end, however, it was enough for Philipp and he made it into the final – even if he had to tremble about progressing. Timon Krause and Ekaterina Leonova were voted out of the show.
