Milk, oil, pasta, but also listening to a nurse: in the stands of the Vélodrome in Marseille, no audience this Friday, but hundreds of students came to the call of the Restos du cœur , seek food and psychological help.

In the aisles of the stadium, Restaurant volunteers distribute a large bag of food to everyone – with canned tuna, bananas, potatoes, cookies, etc. – and a hygiene kit.

More than 600 students expected

“The idea is to capture this audience, because many students do not know us or think that Restaurants are not for them”, explains Michel Rodi, president of Restos du cœur des Bouches-du- Rhône, which expected up to 600 students for this operation.

They have the choice: just collect a bag of food or register to become beneficiaries of the Restaurants over time. Upstairs, in the stands overlooking the lawn of the football stadium, the students come to seek other help, psychological and social. They are greeted by men and women in white coats from the Nurses’ House.

“We intervened in several Crous for antigenic tests and the students touched us to the heart, admits Assia Messaoudi, liberal nurse. A great sadness arose, they are in a disastrous psychological state ”.
