The two test concerts organized at the Secret Place, in Saint-Jean-de-Védas, near Montpellier (Hérault), will take place on June 5 and 6. The Fatal Picards, who represented France at Eurovision Song Contest in 2007, will be showing on Saturday with the Washington Dead Cats. On Sunday, Boomerang and Palavas Surfers will take over.

These test concerts, which will be organized between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., will be the support of a study, carried by the Montpellier University Hospital, which should make it possible to know whether or not the Covid-19 is circulating in this type of event. , And under what conditions. “The stake will really be the commitment of the participants”

A total of 1,290 people will participate in the study: for each concert, 215 will attend the event and 430 will watch it from their homes, streaming. Each group will be drawn. “The study will compare the number of new cases, in a group that will attend a concert, and another that does not attend,” says Lionel Moulis, doctor of public health at the CHU. Participants will be tested before, with Easy Cov saliva tests, and seven days after. Only negative people will be able to participate in the study. On site, everyone must wear a mask, but distancing will not be mandatory. And the outdoor bar will be open, but with strict measures.

Registrations for this study will open this weekend. The details will be specified by the Secret Place. “The stake will really be the commitment of the participants,” confides Stéphane Ricchiero, president of the Association of Music Producers and Publishers (Apem), which co-organizes the event. If they’re just coming to see a concert, it’s fucked up. But if they are volunteers, to give a little of their time ”, the bet will be won.

And to make the participants want to come back to be tested, seven days later, the Secret Place will offer them gifts: a bag, a T-shirt designed by a tattoo artist and concert tickets, to attend the 25 years of the room.
