Ukraine is concerned that after the landmark decision by Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), the European leopard– Main battle tank deliveries might not be as large as expected. “We Ukrainians call on all states that leopard-main battle tanks have the ability to make their own contribution to the tank coalition without further delay,” Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Melnyk said Süddeutsche Zeitung. The point is to put the Ukrainian army in a position “so that it can liberate all occupied areas with concentrated force before the end of 2023,” said Melnyk. “Every day counts. Our survival as a state and European cultural nation is at stake,” he said, referring to the expected new Russian offensives and their equipment.
