Lego Advent calendar 2024: Star Wars, Disney & Spider-Man in check

For many people, Advent calendars with chocolate are as much a part of Christmas as the Christmas tree and the presents on Christmas Eve. But for several years now, the Naschis have had to share the pre-Christmas season with tea, perfumes, toys, spices, sex toys and much more. This year Lego has also released several calendars with 24 small surprises made from clamping building blocks. Year after year, adult collectors of minifigures eagerly await the Ugly Sweater that Lego “dresses” selected characters. How ugly are the sweaters this year? And what is hidden behind the doors for little Lego fans? The star has 3 Lego Advent Calendar 2024 inspects and reveals what is hidden behind the doors and what young and old can look forward to from December 1st.

1. Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar

The key details of the Lego Star Wars Advent calendar read promisingly: 368 pieces, including five minifigures and a battle droid, are hidden behind the 24 doors this year. That’s almost 50 more stones than last year. After a short break, Luke Skywalker returns and forms the duo in the Ugly Sweaters with Princess Leia. This time the print on Leia’s sweater shows a scene from the ice planet Hoth from the film “Star Wars Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back”. The two figures in the Christmas outfit are, as usual, exclusive and will only officially be available in this calendar.

Little star warriors can look forward to many micro-models of the most popular spaceships as well as mini-builds of Darth Vader’s fortress and a small AT-AT. The stylishly printed Ahsoka Tano, a Clone Trooper of the 501st Legion and a Praetorian Guard complete the small minifigure selection.

star-Conclusion: In the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2024, light and shadow are balanced. For the RRP of just under 35 euros (that’s three euros less than last year), Lego fans get significantly more (small) parts. But as in 2023, nothing is really spectacular. Collectors of the exclusive Christmas figures can look forward to Luke and Leia. If you want to expand your Star Warrior force, you will find at least two new additions. The battle droid is also impressive. Nevertheless, some Star Wars fans might have hoped for a little more from the Lego Star Wars Advent calendar in the year of the 25th Lego Star Wars anniversary.

Unfortunately, the 24 small spaceships and minifigures are still packaged in plastic instead of paper. Since this year, Lego has shown that things can get better in many new sets.

2. Lego Spider-Man Advent Calendar

The spiders are on the loose – in the Lego Marvel Advent Calendar 2024. After Guardian of the Galaxy and the Avengers last year, in 2024 Spider-Man aka Peter Parker and his adversaries will take over the tingly command behind the 24 doors. In addition to the classic Spider-Man, Green Goblin, Miles Morales, Venom and Ghost Spider fly through the snowstorm. There’s also Spider-Ham, the anthropomorphic pig in a winter outfit. For us the secret star of this Advent calendar. With only 246 parts, it is once again the fewest of all calendars.

star-Conclusion: The Lego Spider-Man Advent calendar doesn’t come close to last year’s Avengers calendar. The five minifigures are solid, Spider-Ham as a little extra is definitely a highlight. Beautiful: Green Goblin races through Advent on a sleigh, Ghost Spider sits on the drums and delights with Christmas Rock. The mini builds are definitely convincing. In addition, the calendar is more of a parts donor for your own Lego creations.

3. Lego Disney Advent Calendar

Fans of the popular Disney animated films always looked into the chimney (or pipe) of the previous Lego Advent calendars. That’s over now, because the Lego Disney Advent Calendar will celebrate its premiere in 2024. Instead of the minifigures, there are, unsurprisingly, mini dolls hidden behind the small doors. With 253 pieces, the Disney Advent calendar is on par with Spider-Man. However, the content convinced us more. This is not only due to the five mini dolls from “Encanto”, “Arielle”, “Moana”, “Frozen” and “The Frog Prince”, but also because the assembled figures and mini castles are the backdrop for a dice game , which can be played on the expanded calendar. The only drawback: Cinderella’s castle remains uninhabited.

star-Conclusion: Successful debut for the Lego Disney Advent calendar. Five great micro figures, plus Pua the pig, Sven the reindeer and a mini version of Olaf the snowman, who can let off steam on a seesaw. Each figure gets a lovingly designed home. And finally, the fun is ensured by a built cube that takes Elsa, Ariel & Co to their castles on the playing field. The downside from our point of view: If Cinderella’s dream castle is being built, the landlady should also move in. Of the three presented here, the Disney calendar is still our favorite.
