LBeer Escape attacks the summer under pressure. Until the end of September, this beer-focused travel agency will offer tours, workshops and themed evenings in Lille. The season started at the beginning of June, “but it is really since the weekend of June 19 that we had a recovery, with the health restrictions lifted”, explains Nicolas Lescieux, director of the Echappée beer tourism pole.
For three months, the activities of this agency will introduce beer in the North through multiple processes.
New activities are added to the old ones
“We will keep our historical activities, which are now known by those who follow us”, continues the manager. Thus, beer tastings and treasure hunts will once again be on the menu. “But we also tried to develop new things. This year it is believed that people will turn to local destinations. We have therefore created activities that will showcase the totem and new places of Lille, ”explains Nicolas Lescieux.
A hop cruise on August 29, with a departure from the citadel and a visit to a distillery, is thus added to the agenda. If the walk on the Deûle does not convince you, l’Echappée Bière offers a new version of its treasure hunts. These now become a giant escape game with no time constraints, “everyone can go when they want, on their own”.
The start of the school year is also scheduled for the Echappée Bière, which organizes the Beer festival in Lille from September 18 to September 19, 2021. “This event will allow us to really establish ourselves in Lille, and the partnership with Lille Grand Palais can make us grow. . They will provide us with know-how, ”rejoices Nicolas Lescieux.
Tourism adapts to health conditions
If the Covid has changed the organization of the summer, the Echappée Bière has studied the subject well. “We know that this year tourism will be more local, and according to our forecasts people will favor their territory. This is where we are ready to welcome them. The European metropolis of Lille has also focused on local tourism this year, with an ambitious program, which is reassuring. We all have the same vision for the season. “
Even if health restrictions will always be decisive in the organization of events. “The whole constraint this year is the Covid, so we are adapting”. For this reason, the proposed activities will respect the gauges and health protection procedures. However, a health pass will not be necessary for the moment.
