Have you recently moved or are you planning to slip your ballot into the ballot box for the first time in 2021? Hurry up! This Friday marks the deadline to register on the electoral lists in order to vote for the next departmental and regional elections, on June 20 and 27, 2021.

This registration can be carried out at the town hall of your place of residence – if it is open on this Ascension Bridge – or online, via the Service-public.fr site, the latter also making it possible to check one’s “situation. electoral ”. Note that registration requires providing proof of identity and proof of address.

Young adults registered automatically

French women and men who reach the age of 18 before June 19, 2021 are automatically registered on the electoral lists if they have “completed the census process at 16”, specifies Service-public.fr. After this Friday, registration on the electoral roll is obviously still possible, but it will only allow voting for the following polls.

The regional and departmental elections will take place in a particular context, in the midst of the coronavirus epidemic, as 20 minutes explained it to you a few weeks ago. In particular, a health protocol will be put in place “to guarantee compliance with barrier gestures” and health security in polling stations, Jean Castex assured.
