La Rochelle did it! For their first at this level, the players from La Rochelle beat Leinster, four times European champion, this Sunday in the semi-final of the Rugby Champions Cup.

Very unruly during the first period, Ronan O’Gara’s men were led at the break (12-13), but Ihaia West’s boot and two tries from Grégory Alldritt and Will Skelton allowed them to afford the ‘one of the best victories in the history of the club (32-23).

The final against Stade Toulousain, which ruled out the UBB on Saturday, will be the sixth confrontation between French clubs at this level of the competition. The last dates back to 2015 and the success of Toulon ahead of Clermont (24-18) at Twickenham. No French team has won the trophy since.
