Kylian Mbappé would not activate his option until 2025 at PSG, a new soap opera this summer?

Could the MNM find itself reduced to nothing in one summer? We are still far from it, since only Lionel Messi finds himself at the end of his contract and therefore we could not be closer to a departure. But while The Team explained on Tuesday that discussions had opened between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United about a transfer of Neymar (under contract until 2027), the sports daily announced on Wednesday that Kylian Mbappé would have decided not to lift his option of an additional year of contract (until 2025) with PSG.

Concretely, and while the star striker of the Blues has until July 31, 2023 to exercise this one-year option, he would in this case enter his last year of contract this summer. A configuration which is generally accompanied by a big blur, even if the PSG showed in 2021 that it was ready not to sell its flagship player, even if it meant losing him without (crazy) severance pay. Nevertheless, after having communicated with great fanfare last year on an extension until 2025 of his scorer, this new episode in the Mbappé saga would be a hell of a snub for the management of the Parisian club, if he were to be confirmed.

And above all, it would still imply from this summer a transfer window of all the uncertainties, including about the centerpiece of the Parisian project therefore. According to The Team, this prospect of seeing Kylian Mbappé at the end of his contract in 2024 would not unduly worry PSG, which has already succeeded on several occasions in convincing him to stay, including when Real Madrid put down 200 million euros on the table in 2021 to recruit him. In any case, it smells like a big day for the Madrid press, and our Mbappometer is about to come out of the boxes in the coming weeks.
