Kylian Mbappé demands 100 million euros from Paris for unpaid salaries and bonuses

Kylian Mbappé and his broken nose remained on the bench this Friday in Leipzig, during the Euro match between the France team and the Netherlands (0-0). “It was wiser,” explained Didier Deschamps afterwards. We do not know if the usual captain of the Blues received a notification of The Team during the meeting. But the sports daily indicated in the evening that “Kyky” had formally asked Paris Saint-Germain to pay him unpaid salaries and bonuses.

The future Real Madrid striker recently sent a letter to the capital club asking them to settle the bill, a letter which was also notified to the Professional Football League (LFP). The LFP legal commission has not yet been contacted, as the two parties are still in a negotiation phase. The amount would be 100 million euros, an amount corresponding to the April and May salaries not paid by PSG as well as bonuses.

Divergent versions

In April, the non-payment of Mbappé’s salary was linked to the agreement concluded in the summer of 2023 between the player and the club, under the terms of which the striker agreed to waive part of his bonuses. But the version put forward by another source involved in the negotiations was different: this decision would have been taken on the initiative of the club but without having informed the scorer. A total of around 80 million euros – adding salaries and bonuses – was then mentioned.

These tensions reappear even though the two parties had indicated at the start of the year that they had reached agreement on the subject. Obviously, that wasn’t the case.
