Knife attack in the city center: 45-year-old succumbs to injuries – Munich

After an argument in downtown Munich, a 45-year-old man succumbed to his serious injuries in the hospital on Thursday evening, a police spokesman said. The man suffered severe stab wounds in an argument with a 27-year-old woman, and the woman was taken to the hospital with cuts on her hands. Passers-by alerted the police at around 2:40 p.m. after the woman ran bleeding out of a doorway on Sendlinger Strasse.

The police came with about 50 officers, they found the badly injured man in the stairwell. He was immediately operated on. The 27-year-old, on the other hand, was responsive. The homicide squad took over the investigation. The section of the pedestrian zone was temporarily closed.

The two injured live in the same house

The cause of the dispute is still unknown. According to a police spokesman, both lived in the house, but on different floors. They would have known each other, but probably no closer.

According to initial findings, the 27-year-old had an argument with the 45-year-old at the apartment door, in which a knife was involved. The man is said to have suffered more than one stab wound. Apart from the two injured, no one else was involved.

Forensics helpers were on the move and marked spots on the edge of the sidewalk, eyewitnesses reported. There were traces of blood there. Onlookers gathered behind the white and red streamers.
