It’s a dreary morning, light fog has fallen over Brokstedt train station. A sign with a hiking map welcomes those who arrive here, behind it a beer tavern. Road salt is on the platform, the fire brigade cleaned it on Wednesday evening and washed away the blood. A man had attacked people with a knife on the regional train from Kiel to Hamburg in the afternoon, when the train came to a standstill at the small town’s station, the scenery shifted to the platform.
