Kirchseeon: Great honor for Udo Ockel – Ebersberg

It has been a fact for two years that the long-standing head of Kirchseeon’s town hall, Udo Ockel, will be given the honor of former mayor. Finally, after the forced break caused by Corona, the associated ceremony could also take place, at which he was handed the corresponding certificate by his successor and party friend Jan Paeplow (CSU). Ockel did not run for office in the 2020 local elections, although at the age of 60 he could have gone into another electoral term. Instead, he left the field to the younger generation.

Before that, Ockel, who lives in Aßling, controlled the fortunes of the market town for 18 years – longer than any other mayor in the history of Kirchseeon. When he took office, he never dreamed that he would shape such an era, although he said in his farewell interview in the SZ: “Of course, I had hoped so.” In addition to setting the political course for the town, Ockel also greatly appreciated the intimate contact with the residents. Many good friendships have developed over the years. So it is not surprising that the ATSV hall in Kirchseeon was well filled at the big ceremony.
