A fire broke out in a warehouse in Kirchheim on Thursday night. The flames were brought under control with a large deployment of fire and rescue services. A firefighter was slightly injured while fighting the fire. As reported by the district fire inspection, the fire brigades were alerted at around 3.35 a.m.
Upon arrival, a massive glow of fire was visible in the area of the building. The emergency services used two turntable ladders to extinguish the roof of the warehouse, and several firefighters had to use breathing apparatus to fight the flames inside the building. The district fire inspection speaks of a “massive use” of the fire brigade to prevent it from spreading to other parts of the hall. The fire brigades from Kirchheim, Heimstetten, Aschheim, the ABC-Zug München-Land, the UG-ÖEL, the district fire inspection, the rescue service and the police were in action. The Poing fire brigade used a large-capacity fan.
The technical adviser from the Technical Relief Agency (THW) in Munich-Land was called in to check the stability of the hall. In the course of the operation, the drone of the Heimstetten fire brigade was also used. The fire was under control by 5 a.m. A total of 105 emergency services were deployed. According to the district fire inspection, there is currently no precise information on the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire.
