Police officers succeeded on Tuesday in Kirchheim in catching a series car scratcher in red-handedness. In the early afternoon they saw a 79-year-old pensioner trying to scratch the paintwork of a parked car and arrested him. The perpetrator confessed. Since March 2017 and most recently on September 16, 2021, according to the Haarer police, cars standing on the edge of the road on the Schlehenring at the level of the Goldeibenweg in Kirchheim were scratched in at least six cases and then notes were attached to the vehicles on which the perpetrator the motive for his actions declared: “Penalty for parking in the garage entrance”. In one case, he also stabbed a tire.
