Most recently, star producer Graham King celebrated mega success with the biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” about Queen frontman Freddie Mercury. Now he is taking on the life story of the late “King of Pop”.

The life of pop star Michael Jackson is to be filmed in Hollywood. The British star producer Graham King (“Aviator”) and the studio Lionsgate are on board.

The screenplay for the film “Michael” is provided by author John Logan (“Gladiator”, “James Bond 007: Spectre”, “Alien: Covenant”), as Lionsgate announced according to “Variety” and “Hollywood Reporter”.

In addition to King, the estate administration and the family of the singer, who died in 2009 at the age of 50, are also involved in the project. Jackson’s mother, Katherine, said the family was honored to film the life story. Michael loved the “magic of cinema” from an early age.

With hits like “Billie Jean”, “Beat It” and “Thriller”, the artist celebrated as the “King of Pop” became one of the highest-earning and best-known singers in the world. His eccentric lifestyle and allegations of abuse later scratched his image. But Jackson’s life continues to provide material for shows and films. The musical “MJ” recently celebrated its Broadway premiere.

Producer King recently had great success with the biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” (2018) about Queen frontman Freddie Mercury. Rami Malek then won the Oscar for best actor.
