With a smile, King Charles III and Queen Camilla took part in the “Garter Day” at Windsor Castle.

After the Trooping the Colour celebrations this weekend, King Charles III (75) and his wife, Queen Camilla (76), made another official appearance on June 17. The royal couple apparently attended a traditional procession and ceremony of the Order of the Garter in good spirits.

Many royals show up on “Garter Day”

The royal family has impressions of the procession also published on InstagramIn addition to Charles and Camilla, the photos also include his siblings, Princess Anne (73) and Prince Edward (60). Charles’ eldest son, Prince William (41), was also present. He was accompanied by Edward’s wife, Duchess Sophie (59), as can be seen in other photos of the annual “Garter Day”.

The Order of the Garter was founded almost 700 years ago by King Edward III (1312-1377). In addition to the monarch and the Prince of Wales, the “Most Noble Order of the Garter” may only have a maximum of 24 members. The knights of the order present, including the composer Andrew Lloyd Webber (76) and Brigitte, the Duchess of Gloucester (77), took part in a procession and a service in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The order currently has 21 members.

William’s wife was unfortunately not present. Although Princess Kate (42) took part in the royal military parade “Trooping the Colour” in honour of King Charles III last Saturday, she will probably have to take it easy for the time being.

Like the king, Kate is undergoing treatment for cancer. In March she announced that she had cancer and was undergoing “preventive chemotherapy”. “I am making good progress, but as anyone who undergoes chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days,” Kate wrote, among other things. before their recent return on Platform X.
