Buckingham Palace has released a historic photo. It shows the monarch in formal robes surrounded by his heirs.

Less than a week after the coronation of King Charles III. (74), Buckingham Palace publishes two other remarkable photos on the royal family’s social media channels. Both were taken as part of the coronation celebrations around May 6th. In the first, historical picture you can see Charles (74) via Twitter, among other things with his two direct heirs to the throne, Prince William (40) and Prince George (9) in the throne room of Buckingham Palace.

Charles wears full royal regalia, including the robe, crown, scepter and orb. George, meanwhile, stands at his grandfather’s side in his ceremonial page uniform, while Prince William – also dressed for the occasion and formal – has found his place at the side of the 1902 throne. Photographer Hugo Burnand said in an interview with Hello magazine about his admission that this motive was very important to him. He rummaged in the archives, but found no such pictures of the succession to the throne from bygone eras.

Second picture with all honorary pages

A second photo from the coronation shows King Charles and Queen Camilla (75) with her eight page honors and the so-called Ladies in Attendance of Camilla, her sister Annabel Elliot (74) and her friend Fiona Petty-Fitzmaurice (68). Prince George also slipped into the role of the page of honor for his grandfather Charles, posing alongside Camilla’s three grandchildren and a grandnephew.
