Kim Frank: What became of the singer of the school band Echt?

Especially with the two hits “You carry no love in you” and “Crying?” the band celebrated great successes. Frontman Kim Frank founded the school band at the age of 12 – but what does he do today? After the successful second album “Freischwimmer”, the third album flopped – in 2002 the band finally split up. But what is the former teen heartthrob and former Echt front singer Kim Frank doing today? The now 40-year-old has ended his music career. In a 2018 interview, he said: “I probably could have played old hits at car dealership openings and lived on them until I was old and gray – but I didn’t want to do that”. Instead, after the end of the band, he worked as a photographer, voice actor and also as an actor. In 2007 he tried music again and released his solo album “Hellblau”. A short trip, but Kim Frank has not completely turned his back on the business. Since 2008 he has mainly worked as a director for music videos. Among others for Udo Lindenberg, Mark Forster, Adel Tawil and Andreas Bohrani.
