Kemnath – accident driver flees from helpers – Bavaria

A drunk driver had an accident in the Upper Palatinate and then fled to a forest from first aiders. The man was out on the road between Kemnath and Pressath (Tirschenreuth district) at night. At a roundabout his car turned off the road, broke through the guardrail, tumbled down the embankment, and lay on its side. When first responders made contact with the driver, who was visibly in shock, he fled to a nearby forest.

Since the police did not rule out that the man was seriously injured, they searched the area with several officers, fire fighters, a drone and a helicopter. The driver involved in the accident was found about three kilometers away – uninjured, but drunk.
