If you enter the word “Schnellgericht” in the Internet search engine, it immediately lists a number of quickly prepared recipes. But quick dishes can also go completely different. Take: one hour, four offenses, one judge. Accelerated proceedings are held twice a week at the Munich District Court. This means that criminally relevant offenses with simple facts and clear evidence can be set for trial within a few days and then quickly judged. “And in contrast to a penalty order, the judge and the public prosecutor have the opportunity to talk to the repentant sinner into conscience,” says Klaus-Peter Jüngst from the district court.
