Drews had announced farewell to Silbereisen

Jürgen Drews had already said goodbye to the tour stage at the beginning of October. The pop star performed live for the last time with a band in Ellmau am Wilden Kaiser, Austria. The 77-year-old had announced the end of his career a few weeks earlier with Florian Silbereisen.

Drews, who celebrated his breakthrough in 1976 with the song “Ein Bett im Kornfeld”, said his farewell to TV viewers in July 2022. “Since I’m at an age when others have long been retired, I also said to myself: someday it’ll be good,” said the singer on the show “The big hit beach party 2022 – it starts again!” (The first) by Silbereisen. He made the decision together with his wife Ramona. The singer had previously made it public that he suffered from polyneuropathy, a nerve disease that limits mobility.
