Dr. Bob is sick and misses the first jungle test since the reality show began. But he has to be replaced not only on day 14.

This has never happened before: a Jungle test without Dr. Bob! On day 14 of the legends season, which is currently being broadcast on RTL+ and RTL, the time had come after 20 years. Robert “Bob” McCarron (74), as the London-born Australian is called, had to call in sick for the show. Dr. Bob has been on duty since the first season of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” (2004).

“He is actually sick,” presenter Sonja Zietlow (56) announced the news to the two surprised candidates of the day, Elena Miras (32) and Georgina Fleur (34), in the show recorded in May.

Jan Köppen steps in for Dr. Bob

As the station continues to reportthe special effects artist and emergency paramedic was replaced by presenter Jan Köppen (41). He himself had also missed the start of the TV show, which was exceptionally filmed in South Africa, due to illness – Zietlow handled the moderation alone.

But Dr. Bob’s absence will not be the only one. On day 15, Köppen will also have to step in for the expert who has a cold and explain the precautionary measures for each task to the test takers.

It is still unclear who will compete. What is certain, however, is that it will be one or more of the remaining participants. In addition to Miras and Fleur, the squad includes Loth (51), Danni Büchner (46), Sarah Knappik (37), Mola Adebisi (51), Gigi Birofio (25) and Eric Stehfest (35).

Thorsten Legat (55), Giulia Siegel (49), Winfried Glatzeder (79), Hanka Rackwitz (55) and David Ortega (39) have already been eliminated from the special season of “I’m a Star – Showdown of the Jungle Legends” (latest episode first via RTL+, the following day on linear television on RTL).
