Jungle Camp Day 7: Toilet paper disaster and a hot Gigi

In the jungle camp, events are unfolding rapidly: Giulia Siegel is making herself unpopular with almost everyone. Hanka Rackwitz is fed up. Only Gigi Birofio still exudes enthusiasm and zest for life.

Just in case anyone has forgotten: “Jungle camp – that’s the highest level on German television: honor, fun, emotions, tears, temperament!”, Duracell man Thorsten Legat reminded the television nation on the seventh day in one of his typical martial moaning monologues. Of course, the ex-footballer, a man with muscles “like stone” (Gigi Birofio), gives his all 24/7. If only it weren’t for the others! Some of the fellow campers presented a pathetic picture. It was “lacking in quality” and “shameful” or, to put it another way: “It’s actually pure bullshit. It’s comedy – comedy for idiots!”

What in the name of Three Elena Miras had happened? Even the otherwise very relaxed Mola Adebisi saw a “paradigm shift” looming under palm leaves. Nothing like: On the seventh day you shall rest. The worst argument of the “Legends” season so far was sparked by a few silly layers of toilet paper. When team leader Kader Loth urged more economical use of the utensils for the lower part of the body, Giulia Siegel counterattacked: “But excuse me, you came out of the toilet earlier and wrapped something in toilet paper – what was that?” the DJ suddenly played the investigative reporter and was met with horrified silence from more than just Kader. She explained that she had wrapped up a sanitary pad that she wanted to hide from the others. “My motive was that no one would see my pad. That’s how I was brought up!” It quickly became clear that speaking openly about such intimate matters was miles outside of Kader’s comfort zone.

Support came from all sides, including the men in the group: While Thorsten Legat at least pretended to have expert knowledge (“I’m not a woman, but I have a woman at home”), Mola made it clear that the toilet paper control seal had clearly gone too far: “Kader is a very elegant lady. She lives it. You can’t ask her about ‘Bloody bandage: where did you put it?’, that’s a no-go!” Although he loved Giulia “like a sister”, in this case she was simply in the wrong and had to apologize.

To cut a long story short: Ms Siegel apologized in the way you apologize when you don’t think it’s necessary (“I didn’t mean it in a bad way”). Kader didn’t believe her remorse and will probably give her a wide berth at future Munich kiss-kiss events like half of Mpumalanga: “We’re not going to be friends in this life,” the reality TV icon concluded the WC-Frisch file and had the others confirm that she is still a “queen.” After the “fuck … misunderstanding,” Siegel cried a few crocodile tears at some point, saying she felt “unfairly treated by some people here” and downright bullied.

Jungle camp: Hanka Rackwitz pulls the ripcord

Former TV estate agent Hanka Rackwitz (“Rent, buy, live”) has also been feeling bullied and misunderstood for days. After further arguments with Sarah Knappik, Elena Miras and Mola Adebisi, the 55-year-old said the sentence that set her free in the morning: “I’m a star – get me out of here!” The fact that Sarah immediately shouted “Why? Let’s vote you out!” was what felt like the 1235th misunderstanding in a row. Rackwitz saw her rejection of the group confirmed, and Knappik realised that her fellow camper would have to forego a large part of her fee. “No amount of money in the world is worth that,” Rackwitz said indignantly on the jungle phone, but then lashed out at “those idiots” and explained that this time she wanted to pull the ripcord in time and “protect her little piece of life”. Rackwitz suffered from anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder for years. The decision to leave voluntarily was “the bravest in my life so far,” she said.

A new year began for the camp’s youngster: Gigi Birofio celebrated his 25th birthday. “What do you want?” Sarah Knappik asked and got the most typical Gigi answer ever: “Really? A fuck out here,” grinned the dating show gigolo, while Sarah was already waving him off. Instead, Gigi, Kader and Thorsten were given a new version of the infamous driving test. You know: your left is my right, step on the gas, turn, turn, turn, don’t turn so far!

Kader and their “two testosterones” did surprisingly well, however, not least thanks to Gigi’s passionate driving instructions. His “Vai, vai, vai! A little more turbo forward! Hit left, hit right!” led the excited crew almost to the finish. Then the car broke down – a first. Moderator Jan Köppen quickly assigned Legat to push the vehicle with his arms wide open, and the finish line was reached with joy, eight stars. Gigi then revealed his secret to success with a broad grin: “Intelligence!”

Beef because of “know-it-all”

Meanwhile, Winfried Glatzeder told the camp that his first time (also!) took place in a broom closet. “And a son was born straight away, I didn’t want it to be unpleasant.” The idea of one’s own father saying something like that in front of an audience of millions was also extremely unpleasant. But the man is known to be an actor who lives for the big performance. After all, he likes to listen to Bach and Mozart – “and only for breakfast!”

Thorsten Legat has other worries. The ex-footballer secretly checked with the others whether “everything was clear” for the next nomination. Nods all around. Even Eric Stehfest knew that the woman he “likes very much” but who is “already a rebel” in the camp would be at the top of the hit list after the toilet paper disaster: Giulia Siegel.

“She’s a know-it-all,” said Elena Miras, who had surprisingly not been invited until now, after a failed cooking session in which Siegel explained to her how to hold a knife, which knife she should use and how to cut the vegetables. Miras gave up in frustration and was close to bursting out: “I really have to pull myself together now!”

But the last wise words belong to Siegel’s toilet paper opponent Kader Loth: “As we all know: the way to your heart’s content is through your stomach,” said the 51-year-old. No, sorry – wrong quote! This is what it should be: “The worst thing in the jungle is the others.”
