At Easter, actor John Travolta appeared on Instagram with his two children, Ella and Benjamin. New fan favorite in the round: Dog Mac N Cheese.

John Travolta spent Easter with his two kids — and the newest four-legged family member: dog Mac N Cheese. On Easter Sunday, the actor posted a video of himself with his children Ella (22) and Benjamin (11) on his Instagram page.

“Happy Easter everyone!” the actor wrote in the clip’s caption, along with a bunny and chick emoji. The clip shows him and Ella holding a giant stuffed Easter bunny while Ben cuddles with their new dog, Mac N Cheese, whom they adopted just last month. Travolta’s longtime friend and fellow actor Jamie Lee Curtis, who helped arrange the pup’s adoption, was among those who commented on the post. “Oh Mac N Cheese is so happy,” she gushed, referring to the family’s apparent affection for the golden pooch.

Just weeks earlier, Mac N Cheese was featured at this year’s Betty White Oscars, celebrating the late Hollywood star’s commitment to animal welfare and charity.

Several strokes of fate for John Travolta

After Mac N Cheese shared the spotlight with Curtis, Travolta met the pup backstage, where he got to cuddle with him for half an hour. The very next day, son Benjamin initiated adoption negotiations with the animal rescue organization Paw Works. Within 24 hours, the Travoltas had a new four-legged family member.

Maybe the little puppy can spread some joy and distraction, because especially on holidays like Easter, the losses are always more present: The mother of Travolta’s children, Kelly Preston, died in July 2020 after she had been diagnosed with breast cancer two years earlier . John Travolta has also had to let one of his children go: son Jett was just 16 years old when he died in 2009 after a seizure while on a family vacation in the Bahamas. The teenager was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease as a toddler and had intermittent seizures.
