When you watch “Baby J,” John Mulaney’s latest Netflix special, you don’t know if you’re doing the right thing. Shouldn’t one be a little ashamed of the voyeurism that inevitably accounts for part of the fascination of his new program? Or whether one might be leading someone who has just recovered from addiction back into the vicinity of one of the substances to which he was addicted. The only substance he still depends on: attention.
