You all underestimated him. Joe Biden was ridiculed, mocked, not taken seriously. Donald Trump mocked him as “Sleepy Joe” in the US presidential campaign and lost. The left-wing US Democrats and Wokes would have preferred to prevent him, the unloved old white man, who was the only one able to free American democracy from the stranglehold of MAGA populism. Today, it is the ultra-right media and fanatical political bloggers who often post manipulated videos online in which Biden appears as a senile chattering dodder. And now this 46th US President was standing in Warsaw, in front of the Royal Castle and an enthusiastic crowd, and delivering the most important speech of his life – and the best.
