Job advertisements explode
The job market is booming for these professions

Anyone looking for a new job has good cards. Because companies are currently looking for more new employees than they were before the pandemic. An evaluation shows which professions are particularly in demand.
Things are currently going well on the labor market. In October there were again fewer people unemployed than in the previous month and also significantly fewer than in the previous year. The number of corona-related short-time workers is falling and the number of jobs is increasing. According to the Federal Employment Agency, the demand for workers is now well above the pre-Corona level.
A look at the job market confirms the statisticians’ figures. The job portal Indeed reports that at the end of October there were almost 40 percent more job advertisements than in February 2020, i.e. before the outbreak of the Corona crisis. “All professions are benefiting from the current upswing – albeit to different degrees,” writes Indeed, referring to a current analysis of individual professions.
Food industry, gastronomy, logistics
Accordingly, there is currently a particular demand for workers in the food and catering industries. Indeed even counts 70 percent more job postings here than before the pandemic. The gastronomy in particular had suffered greatly from the Corona restrictions, and many are now increasing their staff again.
In the delivery industry, on the other hand, a boom is continuing, which was only really fueled by the pandemic. Online shopping of all kinds, up to and including supermarket shopping brought to your doorstep, creates a never-ending need for staff. According to the evaluation, the number of job advertisements in the field of transport, warehousing and logistics is 64 percent above the pre-Corona value.
HR against the shortage of skilled workers
The third winning industry is human resources. In particular, recruiters are wanted, somebody finally has to hire the workforce that is in demand in all areas. For the entire area of human resources, Indeed has around 66 percent more job advertisements than before Corona. If you only look at the advertisements for jobs in personnel recruitment, the plus is even 170 percent.
A study by the Bertelsmann Foundation recently showed how central the acquisition of new employees is for many companies: According to this, two thirds of all companies struggle with a shortage of skilled workers. And the Indeed evaluation also shows that while the number of job offers is exploding, the number of job seekers is stagnating. It is therefore more difficult for companies to fill the vacancies.
But the labor boom does not have such an impact in all areas: According to Indeed, the growth in job advertisements in the areas of office and administration, legal and mechanical engineering is below average. There were 14 percent more job vacancies for mechanical engineers than before Corona, but given the other boom, this value is poor.
