Jet flame in Nürnberger Bank – Bavaria

A flash of flame apparently erupted when an envelope was opened in a bank in Nuremberg. A 63-year-old employee who opened the letter in A5 format was slightly injured.

“It implemented something in this letter,” said a spokesman for the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office (BLKA) on Thursday. Investigators initially gave no information about who had sent the letter. Of course, it could be that more letters are on their way, said the BLKA spokesman. Defusers are in the process of searching the entire post office.

The building where the bank is located has been evacuated as a precaution. An important traffic artery in front of the bank branch, which connects Nuremberg and Fürth, was blocked. According to the police, this led to significant disruptions in rush-hour traffic.
