In a groundbreaking moment for television, Jermaine Kokoú Kothé, a 19-year-old talent, etched his name in history as the first male winner of the ProSieben series ‘Germany’s Next Topmodel’ last year. Since then, he has thrived as a model and influencer, recently gracing the runway at Berlin Fashion Week for renowned designer Marcel Ostertag. Excitingly, he has plans to launch his own brand this year.

Breaking Boundaries in the Fashion World

The 20th season of Heidi Klum’s acclaimed model competition kicks off on February 13 on ProSieben and joyn, opening its doors to both male and female contestants. Jermaine serves as an inspiring figure for aspiring models; since his victory, he has had a whirlwind of travel and has been booked for numerous campaigns and television appearances.

A standout moment for Jermaine was walking the runway alongside his co-winner, Lea Oude, 25, for designer Kilian Kerner, 45, during Berlin Fashion Week last summer. Following this, he featured on the talk show ‘deep und deutlich’. On his Instagram, where he boasts over 76,000 followers, Jermaine expressed his eagerness to share his journey on the show, describing it as ‘almost like a little dream’. He dedicated the experience to his mother, who has always been his steadfast supporter, especially during challenging times.

Raised in Melsungen near Kassel, Jermaine had aspirations of fame from an early age, having participated in a few photo shoots. His experience on ‘GNTM’ ignited his passion for modeling, which he describes as essential to his being. In a recent interview with ‘HNA’, he reflected positively on his journey, stating, ‘I have been doing super well, mega good.’ Winning ‘GNTM’ stands out as one of the best decisions he has ever made. His unique position as a male winner has opened many doors, enabling him to sustain himself through modeling and content creation. ‘I give my all in everything I do; I never operate below 110 percent,’ he emphasized.

Navigating Success and Mental Well-Being

Amidst his busy schedule, Jermaine prioritizes self-care. ‘I meditate frequently and attend therapy sessions,’ he shares, highlighting the importance of mental health. ‘Seeking help when needed and practicing preventive self-care is crucial. I came close to facing significant challenges after the finale.’ The post-victory period was overwhelming, with an influx of interviews and media attention, leaving him to wonder what would come next. He admits that the experiences of 2024 still feel ‘totally surreal’ and believes he may only fully comprehend their impact later in life.

Currently, Jermaine is relishing his achievements and eagerly anticipates the future. He is particularly excited about launching his own brand, which he hints will center around aesthetics and beauty. While he remains tight-lipped about specific details, he promises, ‘It will definitely be something aesthetic, beautiful, and Jermain-like.’
