Jean-Jacques Bourdin “temporarily” deprived of airtime on BFMTV and RMC after the complaint for sexual assault

Flagship political journalist of RMC and BFMTV, Jean-Jacques Bourdin is the subject of a complaint filed by a former journalist of BFMTV / RMC on January 11 for “sexual assault”. After having launched an internal investigation last Sunday, the Altice Media group, owner of RMC and BFMTV, announced this Sunday to AFP that its star journalist is “temporarily” deprived of the antenna.

“Jean-Jacques Bourdin, at the request of management, is temporarily withdrawing from the antennas of BFMTV and RMC. This decision was taken so as not to prejudice the daily operation of BFMTV and RMC,” the group said in a statement, recalling that the journalist “vigorously disputes the facts denounced”.

Face of the presidential of the Altice Media group

This decision follows the attitude of the presidential candidates towards the accusation of sexual assault against the star interviewer. Tuesday evening on BFMTTV, the LR presidential candidate, indeed underlined from the outset that she had “clearly asked the question”, because of the investigation targeting the journalist, but that she was finally it came out of “respect” for the presumption of innocence. However, before rolling out her proposals, Valérie Pécresse took the opportunity to vilify “the law of silence” on violence against women.

Environmental candidate Yannick Jadot canceled an interview scheduled for Friday morning with the journalist, under investigation for suspicion of sexual assault, he confirmed to AFP. This suspension is a blow for Altice Media, Jean-Jacques Bourdin was the face of the group’s presidential elections… We will now have to find a replacement.
