The French film director Jean-Jacques Beineix is dead. He is considered one of the pioneers of French cinema in the 80s and 90s, his films “Diva” and “Betty Blue – 37.2 degrees in the morning” even achieved cult status. Jean-Jacques Beineix was born in Paris on October 8, 1946 and initially studied medicine before turning to the film business in 1964. He began as an assistant director with Jean Becker.
In 1977,bailey made his first short film, Le Chien de Monsieur Michel, for which he received first prize at the Trouville Festival and was nominated for the César for best short film. His breakthrough in feature films came in 1981 with “Diva”, Beinneix advanced to become a successful director and received many national and international awards. Along with Luc Besson and Jean-Jacques Annaud, Beineix is one of the best-known filmmakers in contemporary French cinema. As the French news agency AFP reported,bailey passed away on Thursday at the age of 75.
