The Prime Minister, Jean Castex will propose, this Tuesday, to the parliament that the regional and departmental elections take place in June, “perhaps by postponing” the second round to June 27, confirmed the President of the Assembly national, Richard Ferrand.

“The Prime Minister will propose that the elections take place in June, perhaps by postponing the second round until June 27 (…) I think so and I welcome it”, declared Richard Ferrand at the microphone of RTL. In this case, motivated by the health crisis, the first round would take place on June 20, again a week after the originally scheduled date.
