Jasmin Gerat has stopped being strict with herself: “I practice appreciating everything my body has done and is doing.”

Jasmin Gerat (43) returns to the screen as Commissioner Stascha Novak: Starting today, Thursday, the first will show two new Croatia thrillers (January 27 and February 3 at 8:15 p.m.). More than six million viewers tuned in to the last broadcast alone.

In the new films, too, Gerat shows full physical exertion again. The actress is particularly ambitious when it comes to the action sequences. “My aim is for it to look the best possible and authentic, and sometimes it’s not easy for me to throttle my energy,” explains the 43-year-old.

Is the big action blockbuster coming soon?

Every stunt is challenging, “because it takes the utmost concentration and focus to keep to the choreography that has been agreed and rehearsed in advance, in the heat of the moment.” Injuries are not uncommon: “I overdid it a bit on the last shoot and suffered a few injuries.” Nevertheless, she has been dreaming of a big action role à la Angelina Jolie in “Lara Croft” for years. “But it’s about time now – I’m not getting any younger!”

The mother of two definitely has the necessary level of fitness. “Sport is a miracle cure for me! It helps me to feel mentally balanced and physically alive and strong. Of course there are also lazy phases that are important to me, but I basically try to integrate sports such as brushing my teeth into my everyday life.”

“More loving look at myself”

Nothing is more boring for her than personal training. “I need to suffer and sweat in a team! That’s why I love everything that I can train in a group – from a wide variety of courses, yoga, jogging and swimming, everything is included.”

And how disciplined is the actress when it comes to nutrition? “I feel best when I listen to what my body needs, and for me personally that’s mostly vegan food with the occasional 500g sundae in front of the telly,” laughs the 43-year-old. “Fortunately, today I have a more loving view of myself and I practice appreciating what my body has already done and does every day instead of counting my pounds and stretch marks.”

At the moment, however, Gerat cannot imagine a nude shoot like in 1998 for the July issue of the German “Playboy”. “Gladly, at 90,” laughs the actress and, looking back, clarifies: “Je ne regret rien!”
