“I wasn’t far from death,” says Jan Ullrich today. In the star does he speak for the first time about his doping fraud and tells how excessive drinking destroyed his marriage. In the end it will be a conversation that can be called a life confession. For the 49-year-old, the interview marks the new beginning of his life, which experienced a triumphant high with his victory in the Tour de France in 1997 – and culminated in a deep fall a few years later. Ullrich now describes himself as dry and clean. And he says: “I’m hungry for life again.”
