It’s official! 18 years after the first separation, Jennifer Lopez shows in a video the engagement ring she got from Ben Affleck.
For many fans, a dream comes true: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are taking the “next step” – Jennifer Lopez confirmed her engagement 18 years after her first breakup. Ben and J.Lo got back together in May 2021, a month after Lopez called off her engagement to Alex Rodriguez.
The 52-year-old actress and singer posted a video of herself and the ring on her website. It has tears in her eyes as she looks at her glowing green engagement ring. The video starts with a black screen. First the ring appears, then the camera moves to her face.

In fact, the video and engagement probably didn’t come as a surprise. It was reported last month that the two were buying a massive mansion in Bel Air for over $50 million. Lopez had already hidden the green stone of the engagement ring. She wrote in a newsletter. “I always say green is my lucky color.”
“I’ve realized that there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I wore green,” a reference to the Versace dress she wore to the 2000 Grammys.
Better after 18 years
Fans never really got over the two’s breakup, especially since Jennifer Lopez never stayed with other partners permanently. When they got back together with Ben Affleck in May 2021, the whole world was amazed at how happy and in love the two seemed. Lopez explained to People magazine in February why their love is different now than it was 18 years ago: “We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we are in different places in our lives, we have Kids now, and we have to be very aware of these things.”
They met in early 2002 when they met on the set of the film “Gigli”. Ben Affleck played her boyfriend in the “Jenny from the Block” music video. They got engaged in November 2002. Affleck then proposed to her with a 6.1-carat pink diamond ring. The ring is said to be worth $12 million today. It cost Affleck $1.2 million. Actually, the two wanted to get married in September 2003. Then the wedding was postponed, in January 2004 they parted. Ben Affleck then dated Jennifer Garner for a long time, and the divorced couple have three children. Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10. Jennifer has two children with her ex-husband Marc Anthony: twins Max and Emme, 13.
In the 13-second clip, Jennifer Lopez proudly shows off the ring – only her fiancé Ben Affleck, 49, can’t be seen. So the fans can already look forward to the next video.
