The cruise ship “Balmoral” is on its way to the Balearic Islands when a 77-year-old German tourist suddenly feels surprisingly bad. Help comes from the Italian military.

The Italian military has taken a German tourist from a cruise ship in the Mediterranean because of serious health problems. The rescue team picked up the 77-year-old from the “Balmoral” in the morning, which was traveling south of the island of Sardinia, the Air Force said.

A video showed a helicopter slowly approaching the top deck of the ship and the emergency services pulling the woman on board with a winch. The patient was then flown to a hospital in the Sardinian capital Cagliari. The “Balmoral” was on the sea route towards Mahón on the Spanish island of Menorca, where it was expected on Wednesday.
