Italy: Eight meter high waves – ferry ride turns into a horror trip (video)

Watch the video: Eight meter high waves – ferry ride in Italy becomes a horror trip.

STORY: A very special crossing. The passengers on the ferry, which departed from the popular Italian holiday island of Ponza, will probably have vivid memories of this trip for some time to come. On Friday, the approximately 70 meter long ship of the Laziomar shipping company left the port of Ponza in heavy seas and then set off for the mainland. Observers spoke of waves that reached a height of up to eight meters, which really hit the ferry. But in the end the ship and the 120 or so passengers on board arrived safely in Formia, a town south of Rome. However, it took about five hours for the route – normally the crossing is completed in about an hour.
