Israel: New blow from The Hague – Politics

The week of discontent for Israel’s government ended on Friday with another thunderclap from The Hague. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered that Israel’s army must immediately end the offensive in Rafah because of the dangers to Palestinian civilians. It is further evidence that the world is increasing pressure on Israel to find a way out of the war in Gaza. But in Israel, many see it as new evidence that the world is hostile to the Jewish state. The opposing views, however, have one thing in common: Both show Israel’s impending isolation.
