Are we heading towards the end of the single ticket in Lyon transport? “Yes, but nothing has been finalized yet, there is no precise schedule,” replies Sytral Mobilités, the transport company TCL, which specifies that this project is part of a ticketing renewal plan launched “there more than a year old”. “The objective is to bring this new ticket office into service by the end of 2023”, explains Sytral again, confirming information fromNews Lyon. Regarding the price, “no decision has been made at this stage but discussions are ongoing”.
Meeting the challenges of sustainable development
But then, why put an end to the single ticket? It is actually a question of “modernizing the network” while responding to “sustainable development issues” according to Sytral. “First of all, it’s more practical, more efficient, more readable for the user. And we also want to put an end to everything disposable. By dematerializing the support, we reduce the production of paper and we limit the possibility that it will end up on the ground at each end of use”, specifies the group.
