The former MP is accused of treason by left-wing activists after the broadcast of recordings, captured between the two rounds, in which he discusses a coalition with Macron’s party and the right (and without LFI).

Recorded on board a train, the Secretary General of the French Communist Party, Fabien Roussel, is accused by left-wing activists (notably LFI) of having “betrayed” the New Popular Front. Why? Because he is said to have negotiated, between the two rounds, a coalition with Gérald Darmanin and Olivier Véran, “without France Insoumise”.

The accusations stem from several audio recordings posted on the social network X (formerly Twitter) on July 4 by the account Aminatorux. He also published a photograph of a man seen from behind, in a shirt, with graying hair and on board a train.

In other messages, Aminatorux indicates that it is Fabien Roussel and that “The recording was taken on the Paris-Lille train at 2:46 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, right in the middle of the two rounds of the legislative elections.”. Versions compiling all the audio and photography have been published on social networks.

“Without the rebels”
