A spectacular graffito appeared in Oberschleißheim in August. It was tied with red and white caution tape and showed a robot in a police uniform holding a red, heart-shaped balloon on a string. Because of this detail, some wondered whether the British street artist Banksy had paid a visit to the Munich suburb. It didn’t, the picture comes from an unknown colleague who calls himself Discop. He welcomes visitors to the “Buntheim” in Puchheim, where pictures and printed versions of his works hang in his studio. He put graffiti and paste-ups on the outer walls of the former shop complex, which was given to artists as temporary use. Discop wears a balaclava, he fends off questions about himself. Instead, he speaks openly about his young career as a street artist.
