Interview with Stella Assange, wife of Wikileaks founder – Culture

Interviewed by

At least since Wikileaks exposed war crimes by American soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2010, the founder of the platform has been the focus of US judiciary and secret services. To avoid extradition to the US, Julian Assange fled to the Ecuadorian embassy in London in 2012, where he found asylum – and stayed for seven years. During this time he met Stella Moris (born 1983), a lawyer who worked for his defense. Unnoticed by the public, the two became a couple. In April 2019, Ecuador allowed British police to arrest Assange.
