Interview with Hertha investor Windhorst: Why he still has big plans in Berlin – Sport

374 million and still last: Lars Windhorst, financier of Hertha BSC, talks about the goals of his investment, management mistakes and a lack of winning mentality – and he announces further payments if necessary.

Interview by

Javier Cáceres and Uwe Ritzer, Berlin

Lars Windhorst, 44, is late. Nebel in London had delayed the take-off of his plane, with which he flew to Berlin especially for the conversation with the SZ. In the conference room of his company Tennor he fetches two small bottles of soda, puts aside his three cell phones and starts. In his back the landmarks of the west of Berlin: Victory Column, radio tower, Teufelsberg. Not far away is also the Olympic Stadium, in which Hertha BSC plays its home games – the club that the conversation is about, and which unfortunately is not running again.
