Cyber attack on the official website of Saxony-Anhalt
The attack applies to the websites of the ministries and the subordinate authorities. Since the morning they are no longer available. This is a so-called DDoS attack.
A cyber attack temporarily paralyzed the official website of the state portal for Saxony-Anhalt. The websites of the ministries and the subordinate authorities have not been accessible since the morning, the Ministry for Infrastructure and Digital announced in the afternoon. It is a so-called DDoS attack, i.e. a targeted overload of the attacked server. A spokesman for Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU) spoke of a “major event”.
However, the attack did not only hit facilities in Saxony-Anhalt, but was “apparently part of a Germany-wide campaign,” said the Ministry for Infrastructure and Digital Affairs in Magdeburg. There were reports of hacker attacks from both Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the Federal Development Ministry on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, it was the first cyber attack of this kind on the state portal in Saxony-Anhalt. The attackers would not have tried to intercept data. Working hard to defend against the attack. In addition, criminal charges were filed with the Saxony-Anhalt State Criminal Police Office.
