William Burns, director of the American foreign intelligence agency CIA, met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Naryshkin in the Turkish capital Ankara on Monday. The date became known because the Russian newspaper commercial sat reported about it. The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the report later told the Russian news agency Tass. According to Western news agencies, an anonymous US government spokesman also said that a meeting had taken place.
