Insuring the e-car correctly – economy

When it crashes, it quickly becomes expensive – that’s especially true for electric cars. Good insurance coverage is important, especially for the battery. However, there are significant differences between the tariffs in the details, which can have a major impact.

The number is increasing: Around 365,000 cars with purely electric drives were registered in Germany in 2021 – more than ever before. Then there are the hybrid vehicles, which have both a combustion engine and a battery drive. The trend continues. More e-cars were sold in almost every month this year than in the same month last year. Whether entry-level models from Dacia, Smart, VW or Renault for less than 30,000 euros or top models such as the Tesla Model X from almost 111,000 euros – an electric car needs to be well insured.
